Incredibly Simple Homemade Soft Pretzels

Incredibly Simple Homemade Soft Pretzels

We are so over sourdough, at least making our own, but that doesn’t mean we are over baking. So what should we make now? After the 2020 baking obsession, we knew our fellow hipsters would be looking for something to take them beyond the realm

Creating Customised Cornhole

Creating Customised Cornhole

Cornhole is a classic summer game to bring together friends and family for some light competition. Tossing canvas bags at a hole to best one another is a great way to bond. If you’re looking to purchase one, there is no need to spend extra money on an expensive unique set. You can easily work on creating customised cornhole boards. Spend some time in the D.I.Yurt to create tailor-made creations that will make you the talk of the town.

Creating Customised Cornhole

Directions to Creating Customised Cornhole

You will need the following materials:
  •
  • Blank Cornhole set (ours was ordered from wayfair)

  • Rag

  • Ruler (to make it easier I would use both T-Square and a regular ruler, though you can just use a regular one for everything)

  • Pencil

  • Painter’s tape

  • Scissors

  • Indoor/outdoor latex paint (Can use spray paint as well, we used it for the gold so we could get the metallic finish that couldn’t be replicated with paint)

  • Paint brushes

And here are some optional materials:
  • Stencils

  • Satin Varnish

Ok, now lets get creating customised cornhole!

Step 1: Mark your Lines

    • Once you have unpacked your newly acquired cornhole set, wipe it down with a cloth. I would suggest doing this between steps, once paint is dry or before you start each day to make sure that the surface is clear of things like eraser pieces, pollen, or anything that would affect the adhesion of the tape and the paint. Then prep the boards by measuring everything out with a ruler. (If you are following our measurements please see the below:

      -Border: 3.8 cm (1.5″)

      – Side Polygon: 12.7 x 87.5 x 61 cm (5″x34.5″x24″)

      -Centre Polygon: 21.5 x 54.5 cm (8.5″x21.5″)

-Diameter of the Circle: 26.7 cm (10.5″)

    • (Note: for ours we didn’t end up using the circle marks for anything but using for the logo measurements, however if you wanted to make your logos larger or fill them in with a block colour scheme, you can make them larger if you wish. Take creative liberties, this is your custom project.)
