Who are we? What are we doing here? And why are we sitting on our roof in the middle of winter?

How’s tricks?

We are the hipsters behind Hipster at Home, a blog started with the goal of sharing our love of all things food, parties, travelling, and photographing those things. Better than just us living through our cameras, we decided to bring you into our home to meet your hipster neighbours. You can find us here on the blog, over on our podcast We Should Start a Band, having brunch (anywhere that isn’t too midtown), or up on our roof living our most authentic life.

Your Hipster Neighbours

Cold Brew Kombucha works in museums, dabbles in jewellery and art, plays video games, buys far too much lipstick, and pretends to be an adult while actually watching videos online with the hep-cats. Admits to being a massive foodie, even if it is a bit mainstream.

Heritage Avocado Toast enjoying a pretzel and beer at Winter Wonderland

Heritage Avocado Toast is a country bumpkin turned full city boy, believes putting mayo on grilled cheese is ridiculous, and is still searching for the El Dorado of craft beer. Works in business, but would prefer to be a stay-at-home cat dad and beer taste tester. Claims there are no bad beers in this world, just juxtapositions of flavour palates.

Retro Denim Jacket is currently enjoying helping others create businesses, through her work as an entrepreneurial consultant. In her free time she indulges in her love of fashion, cosmetics, photography, and never wears the same eyeshadow look twice. Swears she doesn’t have an obsession with Snapchat.

Meet the other hipsters

Regular readers of the blog and listeners of We Should Start a Band will notice that the hipster network extends beyond the central team. We could not work without the friends and family who support us and assist us from time to time. Here are just a couple deck folk we want to raise a toast to:

Ironically Authentic Eyewear is our amazing graphic designer (you may recognise his work from logo), lover of beer, and father of Portable Vinyl Turntable (who will be focusing on his nitro brew turmeric latte start-up as soon as he nails down that whole potty training thing). Check out his Instagram @Mrizzdesigns.

Non-gender Specific Plaid and Spawn are the Cardiff based pair that provide us brilliant insight and company at brunch, coffee shops, and historic sites. Spawn specialises in interactive flower arrangements and interpretive snapchat.

Hipster at Home is a space to build a non-conformist community around a shared love of food, travel, diy, and living authentically in an urban setting. So grab a bronson and join your hipster neighbours in our adventures outside of the mainstream.

Don’t miss the hipster cats

No hipster household is complete without some hipster pets. Get to know the hipster cats that round out our family and take the quiz to find out which hipster cat best fits your hipster style.
